Installation of Design Files Directly to Embroidery Machine: |
| |
Many of the latest models of sewing machines allow designs to be loaded directly from the CD to the machine. All our latest CD collections can be loaded in this way, but we are still in the process of converting our older designs. If the files are not where you expect them when you load the CD into your embroidery machine, chances are that the CD has not yet been converted to the newest format. Simply load the designs to your computer hard drive using the installer and transfer them to the embroidery machine. |

Other Files of Interest |

If the color sequence is not on the inside packaging, it will be in a PDF
file
named <disknumber>colorseq.pdf. Double click on it to open the document
in Adobe Acrobat. If you do not have Acrobat on your computer, go on line to
www.adobe.com to download a free copy.
If there are appliqué templates, image transfer files or special instructions
they will generally be in folders labeled with the disk number and a brief description
of the contents.
Other PDF documents of interest are:
ecatalog.pdf – The most recent Cactus Punch design catalog!
embref.pdf – The Cactus Punch Guide to Better Embroidery. |

Troubleshooting Installation Problems (Windows): |
| | Installer Does not Open Automatically: If the installer
does not start automatically, use your Windows Explorer to browse the
CD. Find the file named, “SETUP.EXE” and double-click to
start the installer.
Installer Stops Before the Progress Bar Reaches 100%:
Design files are very small, so it takes less time to install than it takes
for the progress bar to be updated. Look for your files in the directory
you chose for the installation. They will be there.

| | File Corruption:
|
| |
The process of sending a design from the computer to the programmable card or embroidery machine
is sensitive to power fluctuations and radio wave and magnetic interference.
How to check a design before sewing to see if it has been corrupted in the
transfer: Read the design back from your card to your computer and compare
how it looks on the screen with the original file. If there is a difference,
then the file has become corrupted.
To Prevent File Corruption:
- Make sure your reader/writer box, scanner or sewing machine (if
directly connected to computer) is plugged into an outlet that is not used
by anything else, especially irons and other appliances. If you are not
near the isolated outlet, run a heavy duty extension cord from that outlet
to your card loading device.
- Keep reader/writer devices and connectors away from from magnets,
speakers, cell phones, and other devices that emit radio waves or magnetic
fields.
- Erase and reformat the corrupted card before reloading the design.

| | Return Policy
|
| |
Cactus Punch CD's may not be returned once they have been opened. Unopened CD's purchased directly from Cactus Punch may be returned within 30 days for refund or exchange (you must pay all shipping fees). If you purchasd a design collection from a dealer, the return policy is set by the dealer. If you find that your CD is defective, it can be returned to Cactus Punch for exchange within 30 days of purchase. Please call to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA), which must appear on the return package. If we find that the CD is not defective, we must charge a $15.00 handling fee, so please be sure that your CD is defective before you attempt to exchange. Cactus Punch stopped selling floppy disks in the last century, and stopped authorizing their sale in 2003. We regret that we can no longer support those disks. However, if you would like to upgrade to the CD version for an upgrade fee of $25.00 for standard collections, and $35.00 for Signature collections, please call for an RMA and instructions for mailing. If you have CD collections that lack a newer format, they may also be upgraded (for certain collections); please call to determine if the new formats are available for your collection and for upgrade pricing. |
